We are thrilled to announce the pre-order of the FLAX to LINEN book authored by Shannon Bahuaud and supported by the Pembina Fibreshed.
In 2020 the Pembina Fibreshed launched its first Flax to Linen project. The goal was to grow fibre flax varieties in small community plots throughout the region to explore the viability of growing flax and processing linen locally.
Shannon Bahuaud participated, and documented the project as part of her masters thesis. The result of this documentation is this beautiful book.
Part reflection from the various community participants, and part instruction for small-scale flax production, the book highlights the hopes and challenges of creating a local fibre economy.
This is a PRE-ORDER of the book that will be released in late April. We want to provide you - our community - the chance to pre-order this book and help us bring it to print and get it out into the world.
The book is 8.5” x 11” and printed on post consumer waste paper.
Approx. 120 pages
Beautifully illustrated with full colour photos.
Any profit generated from the sale of this book will support the programs and projects of the Pembina Fibreshed.
Once the book is printed we will have a launch event in Winnipeg and a local pick-up option available. You may also chose to have the book shipped. We will use oversized lettermail with Canada Post to keep the costs affordable.
